Minister of Foreign Affairs broaches south Lebanon developments with UN’s Plasschaert, receives MP Alameh

NNA - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Rajji, on Friday met in his office, with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, with whom he discussed the latest political developments and the situation in south  Lebanon, ahead of her travel to New York to deliver a periodic briefing to the Security Council on the implementation of UN Resolution 1701.

Hennis-Plasschaert briefed Minister Rajji on her visit to Israel, where she discussed the implementation of the cessation of hostilities declaration and Resolution 1701.

Minister Rajji reiterated the "necessity to pressure Israel to comply with its obligations under the cessation of hostilities declaration and Resolution 1701, to withdraw completely and unconditionally from all Lebanese territories it occupies, to cease its attacks and violations of Lebanese sovereignty, and to release the Lebanese prisoners in its custody."

Raji also received the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs House Committee, MP Fadi Alameh, with  discussions reportedly touching on the committee's work and activities in the next phase.
