NNA - In an issued statement on Sunday, the General Directorate of Civil Defense warned citizens, residents and tourists against swimming in areas of sea currents, which may expose them to the risk of drowning, in view of the high waves that the Lebanese coast is witnessing today and the risks associated with the movement of strong sea currents that are affected by the movement of tides resulting from the speed of the wind.

It also called on fishermen, tourist boat owners, and everyone who practices jet skis to assume highest levels of caution when going to the beach and to avoid any activity in this extremely dangerous climate.

It also reminded citizens and residents of the need to adhere to the public safety guidelines issued by the General Directorate of Civil Defense and to call 125 to request assistance when necessary.
