NNA - British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that "the ball is in Russia's court" and that Russian President Vladimir Putin will come to the negotiating table regarding Ukraine "sooner or later," following a virtual meeting of Kyiv's allied countries he hosted on Saturday, according to Agence France-Presse.
Starmer told 26 leaders and senior officials from Kyiv's allied countries, who participated in a virtual conversation hosted by Downing Street, that the focus must be on strengthening Ukraine, consolidating any ceasefire, and continuing to pressure Moscow.
Starmer believed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky demonstrated that his country is "the party calling for peace by agreeing to and committing to an unconditional 30-day ceasefire," adding, "Putin is the one trying to delay...If Putin really wants peace, it's very simple: he must stop his barbaric attacks against Ukraine and agree to a ceasefire."
