NNA - The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed, in a statement, "the signing of the border demarcation agreement between the two countries by His Excellency President Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, and His Excellency President Sadyr Japarov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, on Thursday, March 13, 2025, in Kyrgyzstan's capital, Bishkek."
The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, congratulated the two countries on "this historic achievement, which turns the page on decades of disputes between them. It also enhances mutual trust and gives new impetus to the relations of cooperation and good neighborliness between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples."
The Secretary-General announced that he hopes, "based on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's commitment to strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and harmony among its member states," that this "historic achievement will contribute to serving the interests of both countries and strengthening the foundations of peace between them and the region as a whole."
