Macron sends clear message to Trump on Palestinian displacement

NNA - French President Emmanuel Macron criticized US President Donald Trump's proposal to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, according to "Russia Today".

Macron said in an interview with the Financial Times yesterday, Thursday, that expelling Gaza's 2.2 million residents to neighboring Arab countries would be "very dangerous."

He added: "For me, the solution is not a real estate solution, but a political solution."

In a previous interview with CNN, the French president criticized his American counterpart's plan regarding Gaza, which includes displacing the residents of the Strip and denying them the right to return to it, saying that the reconstruction of Gaza does not necessarily mean disrespecting its residents and deporting them.

France, like most international powers, has announced its complete rejection of any plans to displace Palestinians, and the French government spokesman described this step as "a destabilizing issue in the Middle East."

It is worth noting that US President Donald Trump has previously spoken repeatedly in recent weeks about his desire to seize the Strip and transfer Palestinians from it to neighboring countries, including Egypt and Jordan, despite the opposition of the two countries.
