NNA - A statement circulating on social media, allegedly issued by the Arab Tribes Council, praises the new Syrian leadership and expresses support for its “anti-captagon efforts on the Lebanese-Syrian border.”

The statement also claims the tribes are "ready to offer assistance with men and necessary resources." 

However, Jihad Aql, Secretary-General of the Arab Tribes Council, denied the statement in a phone call with FactCheck Lebanon, confirming that his Facebook page was hacked and the fake statement was posted by the hacker. 

Aql emphasized the strong relationship with the tribes of Baalbek-Hermel.
