NNA - The Lebanese University on Monday denied it had banned blind student Chadi Saeed from sitting for exam, as circulated in some media outlets freshly, confirming that he is entitled to take it at another time again.
Saeed, a blind sociology student, was claimed to have been banned from sitting for English exam at the LU's Sidon branch.
Caretaker Minister of Social Affairs, Wael Abu Faour, today contacted LU Head, Adnan Sayyed Hussein, who immediately ordered the faculty's administration to call Saeed to sit for the test again.
The LU had earlier explained that the exam was just a minor language test that the administration does not usually decide upon. "It is a test that the languages coordination office prepares in the aim of enabling students to master a foreign language. Therefore, he [Saeed] can take it again later," the university said in a statement.
