NNA - Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi said at the 20th conference of Catholic Schools in Ajaltoun, that if the salaries scale draft was approved as is, that would cause some schools' closure, thus hamper the educational sector.
"Some teachers would be out of jobs and some students would have to drop out as parents would be unable to pay their school fees," Rahi explained.
The Patriarch urged to maintain the educational role played by our Catholic schools in providing students with scientific, spiritual, moral, humanitarian, social and national culture.
Rahi reiterated the support for the educational memo presented by the Federation of private educational institutions in Lebanon regarding the impact of the salary scale on the private education sector.
