Education Minister partakes in ALECSO Conference in Qatar on Education: We hope to secure components for safeguarding education sector

NNA - Caretaker Minister of Education and Higher Education, Judge Abbas al-Halabi, participated in the 14th ALECSO Conference on "Inclusive Education and Teacher Empowerment" held in Doha - Qatar, accompanied by including Educational Center for Research and Development Head, Hiam Ishaq, and the General Coordinator of Educational Curricula, Jihad Saliba.

In his word at the conference, Minister al-Halabi hailed the event held in the sisterly State of Qatar, "this brotherly Arab country that constitutes a meeting and communication link between the countries of the world from the East and the West, and which devotes an annual effort to gathering global innovations in the field of educational development, and working towards educational and university transformation towards modernization and artificial intelligence."

Al-Halabi expressed Lebanon's gratitude and appreciation to the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and to the Government of the State of Qatar, and Her Excellency the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Lulwa bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater, "for the care that the State of Qatar gives to Arab issues, and for standing by Lebanon in all difficulties, and undertaking many initiatives to resolve intractable issues."

At the Lebanese level, he hoped to be able to secure the necessary components for safeguarding the educational sector in Lebanon. Al-Halabi said: "We consider the holding of this pioneering conference a space for meeting and presenting educational and developmental ideas and initiatives. We hope that you, the President of the Conference, the Director General, the Ministers and representatives of friendly countries, will respond to Lebanon’s call to secure the elements to preserve the education sector, in light of the scarcity of the Lebanese state’s resources, the halt in the collection of its modest revenues, and the increasing demands of teachers and citizens to enable them to continue living with a decent minimum."

"This is a cry that we are launching among our Arab brothers, and we are full of hope that changing the situation in Lebanon and the region will be an occasion for Lebanon to return to its Arab embrace," al-Halabi asserted.
