NNA - Prime Minister, Dr. Nawaf Salam, on Wednesday welcomed at the Grand Serail, French presidential envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian, in the presence of French Ambassador to Lebanon, Hervé Magro, and the accompanying delegation.
The meeting reportedly covered an array of matters, including the reconstruction issue and the conference that France intends to hold in this regard, as well as the reforms initiated by the Lebanese government.
Discussions also touched on the current political developments.
Premeir Salam also met at the Grand Serail, with the Force Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Major General Aroldo Lazaro, leading a delegation.
The discussion reportedly addressed the situation in the south, the existing cooperation and coordination with the Lebanese army, and the exerted efforts to implement UN Resolution 1701.
Separately, Premier Salam received a delegation from the subcommittee emanating from the joint parliamentary committees tasked with studying the law proposal aimed at establishing a compulsory health coverage system. The delegation included MP Bilal Abdullah, Waddah Sadek, Ali Al-Mekdad, Fadi Alameh, Adib Abdel Massih, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Bizri, Sajih Attieh, and Imad Al-Hout.
The committee members briefed Premier Salam on the details related to the law proposal and the outcome of their meetings held in this regard.
Salam then received a delegation representing the Rented Buildings Owners Syndicate, headed by Dean Patrick Rizkallah, who raised with the Premier the current situation of the sector.
The Prime Minister also met with a delegation from the Depositors Association, who presented the Association’s concerns.
Additionally, Premier Salam received Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Middle East Airlines (MEA) Mohammed Al-Hout, with whom he discussed the company's situation.
