NNA - Nabatieh's Acting Governor Dr. Howaida Turk on Friday met with Norwegian Ambassador to Lebanon, Martin Yttervik, UN Humanitarian Coordinator Imran Riza, WHO Representative Dr. Abdinasir Abubakar, and other officials to address the refugee crisis caused by ongoing Israeli assaults.
Turk highlighted the resilience of Nabatieh despite continuous bombings and called for increased international support, noting a significant decline in aid and the needs of nearly 27,000 refugees. She stressed the importance of providing healthcare, housing, and psychological support to both refugees and residents affected by the conflict.
Imran Riza and other representatives echoed the urgency of addressing the humanitarian needs and pledged to discuss these issues with international donors.
In turn, Norwegian Ambassador Yttervik reaffirmed his country’s commitment to supporting Lebanon through humanitarian efforts and called for a ceasefire in Gaza. The delegation emphasized the need for coordinated international assistance to alleviate the crisis.
