NNA - Maronite patriarch Beshara Rahi, partook in events and services organized by Levantine Churches in the Vatican where he met with prelates and designated head of the Oriental Churches cardinal Leonardo Sandri. The patriarch's meeting's itinerary included monastic orders' heads and Pope Francis whom he saw for over than 4 hours.



During the next stage the Pope officiated over a service during which he called for divine mercy, peace and reconciliation. Patriarch Rahi and prelates dined together next where they discussed challenges and potential threats facing their respective churches. The Oriental Enclave boarded regular agenda matters and submitted recommendations to the Pope. Prelates and church heads are due to pay respects to outgoing Pope Benedict X and present him with a copy of the book depicting his apostolic trip to Lebanon in the year 2012 in presence of Lebanese president Michel Sleiman and members of the Catholic Synod.
