NNA - The Lebanese Army Command issued the following statement:
"At around 9:40 a.m. on Tuesday morning an explosion rocked Al-Jnah locality near the Iranian embassy, which was followed by another explosion at almost the same time.
The blasts left behind a huge number of casualties among dead and injured, as well as grave material damage.
Army units duly intervened and deployed in the region and cordoned off the targeted region. Forensic experts of the military police also rushed to the scene alongside a number of experts who initiated detection measures."
The statement added, "the Army Command calls on citizens not gather in the targeted area in order to avoid other explosions and to facilitate the task of the military forces and relevant agencies working to save those wounded and evacuated to hospitals for treatment."
