NNA - President of the Republic Michel Sleiman asked on Wednesday the control and disciplinary bodies to perform their role regarding transgressions at the public institutions and municipalities.



The President's words came during a meeting which he chaired at Baabda Palace with the municipalities' disciplinary body.



Outgoing Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Caretaker Interior Minister, Marwan Charbel, Presidency Director General Antoine Choukeir, Head of the Disciplinary High Committee, Judge Marwan Abboud, and officials at the committee attended the meeting.



During the meeting, the President was briefed on the committee's work, mainly that related to transgressions at municipalities, since the committee's establishment about a year ago.



Besides, the attendees stressed on the need to continue the implementation of the circulation issued by the Prime Minister as for detaining the transgressors and imposing upon them the needed measures as stated by law and observed regulations.



It is to note that President Sleiman and Outgoing Prime Minister met individually before the meeting and discussed current situation on the internal scene and the talks which the President conducted at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.



In the content of briefing the Ambassadors to Lebanon on the outcome of the meeting of the World Group to Support Lebanon in New York on September 25, 2013, Sleiman met with the Ambassadors of each of South Korea and Switzerland .



Discussions reportedly featured, with each of them, high on the means of supporting Lebanon based on the outcome of New York's meeting.



Moreover, the President welcomed at Baabda Palace head of the National Liberal Party, Deputy Dory Chamoun, who invited the former to the celebration which the party will be held to mark the 70 Independence anniversary.



Sleiman also tackled with Former Deputy Michael Daher current developments and files of legal nature.
