Fatfat from Maarab: March 8 seeks to empty state institutions

NNA - The leader of the Lebanese Forces, Samir Geagea received Monday in Maarab the Future bloc member, MP Ahmad Fatfat, for over two hours after which the Deputy asserted that "the March 14 forces were subject by the March 8 team, specifically by Hezbollah, to various attempts to empty the state institutions, starting with the Parliament, to the cabinet and perhaps the Presidency of the Republic."

Fatfat tackled in his statement the situation in Tripoli "which has been exposed to a plot for two and a half years, despite the fact that the Premier and five Ministers are the sons of this city."

"Tripoli received nothing but destruction, collapse, economic downturn and murder," he regretted.

"Yesterday, we listened to the speech of Refaat Eid who only seeks the destruction of Tripoli and the Lebanese state. Eid threatened the Information Branch and the General Security and said the intelligence officers were traitors yet no one responded. The state is absent vis-a-vis Tripoli and should show concern in it as soon as possible," he warned.

"Enough is enough with the Sunni community. We have the impression that some seek to overpower this sect in Lebanon, similar to the conditions of oppression suffered by the Christian parties during the Syrian occupation phase," Fatfat added, calling on the President and the outgoing Prime Minister as well as on the Lebanese judiciary to take all necessary measures to arrest the assailants in Tripoli, for Lebanon's best interest.
