NNA - UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Derek Plumbly, said the Syrian crisis is the major effective factor entailing Lebanon's stability, indicating that the United Nations and the International Security Council clearly understand the menaces emerging against Lebanon in this concern and Lebanon's needs to surpass the repercussions of said crisis.
Plumbly's words came Thursday during a seminar titled "UN and stability of small states," at Issam Fares Center in Beirut.
Plumbly underscored the necessity to provide international support for local institutions in order to solve the displaced Syrians issue.
He also highlighted the necessity to form a cabinet as soon as possible to hold presidential elections on its due date and prevent any vacuum.
