Military court sentences Burj al-Barajneh bombing perpetrators to death

NNA - The Permanent Military Court, headed by Brigadier General Hussein Abdullah Fajr, today issued its verdict on the two suicide bombings that targeted the Ain al-Sekka area in Burj al-Barajneh, killing 43 civilians and wounding more than 200 others.

It served the death sentence to detainees Ibrahim Al-Jamal and the Syrian Abdel Karim Sheikh Ali, and sentenced to hard labor and life imprisonment the arrestees Bilal al-Baqar, Awad al-Darwish and Ibrahim Raid, each of whom fined five million LBP.

Sentences against others ranged between 15 and 2 years of hard labor, next to stripping all of them of their civil rights.

As for fugitives, the court imposed the death penalty on Hamzah al-Baqar and Sattam al-Shatiwi, and hard labor for life against Zakaria al-Baqar, Hassan Amoun, Alaa Ibrahim and Ahmed Humaid.
