NNA - Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati presided Saturday over a security meeting at the Grand Serail which also comprised caretaker Minister of the Interior and Municipalities Marwan Charbel and Acting General Director of Internal Security Forces Ibrahim Basbous.



Conferees discussed the current security condition in Tripoli and reportedly agreed over the necessity for intensified measures undertaken by the Internal Security Forces in a bid to rid various Tripoli areas off tension.



Discussions also focused on ISF control of construction irregularities amid preparations for an expanded follow-up meeting due to be held at the Presidential Palace shortly.



Earlier, caretaker PM Mikati met with EU Ambassadress to Lebanon Angelina Eichhorst who expressed support for an appropriately adopted security plan deemed relevant for securing and protecting Tripoli citizens as its main objective.



Eichhorst summed up that enjoying a strong government is essential for facing challenges posed by local and regional agendas.


Among itinerant visitors today have been, caretaker minister of Public Works and Transportation Ghazi Aridi in which they discussed issue related to its ministry.



Moreover Mikati was instrumental in soliciting international assistance in fixing the internet.
