Caretaker Minister of State, Salim Karam, bid the prelate farewell on behalf of the President of the Republic Michel Sleiman, at Rafic Hariri International Airport.

Speaking to reporters at the airport, Rahi said he hoped his meetings with the Qatari officials would beget positivity in dossiers like the abduction of the Orthodox archbishops in Syria.

He said he shall certainly solicit Qatari support to know the fate of the Orthodox archbishops and three other priests who were abducted months ago.

Rahi also hoped that all people who are unjustly detained would be soon liberated, considering that such a detention goes against human rights and dignity.

The Patriarch indicated that Christians permanently oppose war, violence and unrest, and uphold stability in the Arab world so that everyone would live in peace.
