NNA - Syria's participation in the "Geneva II" Conference is based on the framework and participants of said conference, President Bashar al-Assad told Italian television station "RaiNews24" on Sunday.


"Syria's main goal today lies in getting rid of terrorists and their ideologies," added al-Assad.


"Upon overcoming the crisis, Syria shall become much better than it used to be before the crisis," Assad stated; stressing that the political solution is a very important part of the crisis.


"The issue is related to the Syrians' meeting around a table of discussion to decide on the kind of political regime they wish to have, and on the future of Syria," noted al-Assad.


Over the European stand vis-a-vis the Syrian situation, President Assad considered that most European countries have no capability of playing a role in the Syrian crisis, since they lack the various factors that ensure their success in having an active role in this respect.
