NNA - The United Nations Security Council must resolve global conflicts peacefully, President of the Republic Michel Sleiman, told Prime Minister designate Tammam Salam and Central Bank Governor Riyad Salameh during their visit to Baabda presidential Palace today.



Universal peace must reign worldwide thanks to concerted efforts by international powers striving for order and stability rather than war and conflict such that humankind lives in everlasting peace and prosperity, he concluded.



I shall exhaust no effort to form a new cabinet and brave all obstacles ahead, PM - Designate Salam reassured the president. Truly, five months have lapsed since the designation albeit, I wish to live up to people's expectation by forming the new government as soon as possible, Salam concluded.



President Sleiman reportedly instructed Central Bank Governor Salameh, due to head the Lebanese delegation to the UN General Assembly meeting in New York, to solicit major donors' financial help particularly
in dealing with the influx of Syrian
refugees displaced into Lebanon.



Salameh on the other hand, allayed the worries of the president regarding the present economic situation saying Lebanese banking and finances were pretty much sane and under control.



Among itinerant Baabda visitors has been former cabinet minister Jihad Az'our with no immediate word as per meeting's outcome with the president.
