NNA - Prime Minister designate, Tammam Salam, told the press Saturday, following his meeting with President Michel Sleiman in Baabda Palace, that many obstacles hinder the formation of cabinet but he is hopeful that upon the President's return from New York the process of government formation would gather momentum.



Salam was adamant that the best solution is the rise of a cabinet capable of facing challenges under the umbrella of the constitution. He urged all political factions to support him in his endeavor, whilst preserving the constitutionality of his work.



"I hope things will not take long, and I hope to fulfill my promise to this good people. I am practicing my role to the fullest."



Many pending issues are on Sleiman's New York agenda, mainly the tragic situation of displaced Syrians and the impact of their numbers on Lebanon.



"It is true that much time has passed, but we ought not to forget that many circumstances accompanied these five months, which did not help in structuring of cabinet."



Salam refused to give a specific date for the emergence of his government.
