NNA - Now is the time for putting together a new Lebanese government, Maronite patriarch Bshara Rahi stated during his Sunday sermon at the Church of St. Charbel in the Romanian capital Bucharest today.



Better hurry up in putting a new government in place today rather than waiting for tomorrow, the patriarch exclaimed. The new cabinet must be potent enough to face all challenges ahead, he added.



Following traditional Oriental rites, the patriarch consecrated the first Maronite church ever on eastern European soil when he forced the gate opened and led in the congregation of the faithful. Having recited verses from the New Testament, Rahi saluted the Lebanese expatriate community in Eastern Europe and demanded a quick end to violence and terrorism in Arab lands by resolving endemic conflicts there peacefully.



Our pressing demand is to extricate ourselves out of the ongoing sectarian conflict in an abstract-objective way through sound political thinking, Rahi concluded.
