NNA - An anonymous group of men detonated a booby-trapped car Sunday evening in the area of Qubbeh in Tripoli, a Lebanese Army communiqué indicated.


The 200g booby-trap, placed under Sheikh Saaddeddine Ghieh's vehicle of "Jeep" model, went off after Ghieh parked his car in the aforementioned area. Fortunately, he survived the explosion with light injuries, the communique added.


As a result, Military Police began investigations into the incident under supervision of the concerned judiciary, in order to unveil the identity of the perpetrators, the Army communiqué stated.
