NNA - Caretaker Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour partook in the UNHCR conference, held in Geneva, with Ministry officials tasked with the Syrian refugee portfolio and representatives of host countries.
At the conference, Abou Faour solicited greater international support for the more than 2 million refugees of Syria.
He described the international cooperation with the Lebanese authorities as "disappointing," and warned that Lebanon would face a bigger crisis if an immediate solution was not found.
The caretaker minister affirmed in his word that the Lebanese government was not receiving any second funding to help it bear the burden of this crisis.
He voiced support to the people of Syrian in their pursuit of democracy, freedom and change.
Government ministers from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey gathered in Geneva on Wednesday to take part in a meeting on the Syria refugee crisis chaired by UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres.
Lebanon's caretaker Minister of Social Affairs Wael Abou Faour, Jordan's Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari arrived at the UNHCR headquarters late Wednesday morning.
