NNA - The Jamaa Islamiya announced Monday the formation of an international parliamentarians' coalition aimed to preserve the constitutional legitimacy, democracy, and human rights, in objection to what the group blasted as "coup d'état" in Egypt.



"After [relevant] discussions, it has been agreed to level a campaign by current and former parliamentarians and to form a coordination committee, whereby a detailed memo was drafted to be further submitted to many international organizations and parliamentary and rights watchdogs," the group's MP Imad Hout said in a statement today.



He added that a web page (www.paragainstcoup.org) is now available to glean signatures.


206 parliamentarians from all over the world have thus far registered their signature.
