Harb says row over distribution of portfolios mere justification to delay cabinet formation

NNA - Telecommunications Minister, Boutros Harb, said on Friday that the fight over cabinet portfolios was nothing but an excuse to stall its formation awaiting a clear identity of the new political era, as well as the route that would be taken vis-a-vis regional developments.

"The matter is neither about portfolios, nor about the electoral law; there's an ongoing political struggle that depends on the political course of the new mandate, especially concerning Syria developments, relations with Iran, and positions from Hezbollah and Saudi Arabia," Harb said in an interview with the Voice of Lebanon radio station.

However, the lawmaker did not rule out a surprising and positive cabinet formation. He also expressed hope that the cabinet would see the light soon.
