NNA - Feminists and civil society representatives poured Sunday into the main plaza of the northern Lebanese town of Halba to express solidarity with family members of the housewife Roula Ya'qoub who was allegedly beaten to death by her husband almost one week ago.
Protesters who staged a vigil unfurled a banner reading "Roula is dead; her voice still lives." Speakers demanded that parliament passes a bill incriminating familial and domestic violence.
