NNA - Head of the Kataeb party, former President Amin Gemayel, visited on Thursday MP Bahia Hariri at the residence of the late Prime Minister Rafic Hariri in Majdelyoun, and tackled with her for over an hour the consequences of the security events in Abra and the general situation in Lebanon and the region.



After the meeting, President Gemayel spoke to reporters about the necessity to return to the state's legitimate institutions to avoid security incidents similar to what happened recently in Sidon.



"This should make us well aware of our responsibilities," he said, asserting that the state institutions must be the sole resort for the people and the only guarantor of their safety.



"What happened in Sidon is new evidence that neither security, nor stability or peace can be achieved (...) with the spread of illegal arms. We should get rid of all the security zones beyond the state control," Gemayel reiterated.



"These security zones contradict with the principle of Lebanese sovereignty and the true concept of citizenship, so we are in dire need of a national plan to tackle this matter," he suggested.



The Kataeb Head concluded his statement by praising the national role played by the Future Deputy Bahia Hariri, assuring that his camp will stand by her side to deal with the outcomes of the Abra security events.



Gemayel finally said that the duty of every Lebanese citizen was to show solidarity in this particular circumstance with the sons of Sidon, after all what they have suffered recently.
