Geagea for a general assembly meeting to vote for a specific electoral law

NNA - Lebanese Forces Party Head, Samir Geagea, commented Saturday on the outcome of the Parliamentary Follow-Up Committee meetings, saying that a "sole solution now remains at this stage; a democratic, legal and constitutional solution which lies in the Parliament Council's general assembly coming together to vote for a particular electoral law."

Speaking in an interview to "Radio Free Lebanon," Geagea referred to the diverse electoral law as being one of the available choices at the current moment. "It is unacceptable to continue stalling, awaiting consensus of the last Lebanese over a particular law," added Geagea.

Geagea called on "Free Patriotic Movement" members to attend the general assembly, since their acceptance determines whether or not the session can take place.

"In the wake of no session, then matters are heading towards prolongation of the current Council's term or adoption of the 1960 electoral law, both of which are not favorable," added Geagea.
