NNA - Lebanese Army Commander, Jean Kahwaji, on Tuesday tackled means to bolster ties between the Lebanese and US army, during his meeting with Philip Gordon, the new US Coordinator for the Middle East, North Africa, and the Gulf Region.
During their meeting, which was held in presence of the US Ambassador to Lebanon Maura Connelly, conferees also tackled the U.S. aid program to the Lebanese army.
Kahwaji also received the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, Hervé Ladsous, with whom he tackled cooperation means between the LA and the UNIFIL operating contingents.
Ladsous hailed after the meeting the LA efforts, sacrifices and hand-in-hand work with the UNIFIL to anchor stability and security in South Lebanon.
He also expressed admiration to what the UNIFIL and Lebanese naval forces showed of commitment to their security responsibilities as per resolution 1701.
Also, Kahwaji received Police Chief Brigadier Joseph Doueihi.
