NNA - Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Sheikh Mohammad Rashid Qabbani, said Lebanon's distinguished feature is its uniting positive national role carried on by leaders of the Islamic and Christian confessions that should be boosted in the period of sectarian and confessional strife.



Qabbani's stance came Monday after receiving a delegation of the Spiritual Gathering of Mount Lebanon that was composed of Christian and Muslim religious figures.



The Mufti called for solidarity between political sides and confession leaders under a national framework, in order for Lebanon's unity, on the level of land, people and institutions, to be the sole reference for all Lebanese citizens.
