Estonia joins UNIFIL peacekeepers in South Lebanon

NNA - Estonia has joined on Thursday the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) for the first time.

A ceremony was held at base 45-2 to celebrate the joining of an Estonian Unit to UNIFIL in the presence of UNIFIL West Sector vice Commander, General Youry Hargco.

The said base will be the general headquarter to the Unit's Command in line with the command of the Finish- Irish Unit.

The members of the Estonian Unit carried out the needed exercises and preparations in Fenland with peace keepers' soldiers under the supervision of the Finish Unit Command.
