NNA - Social Affairs Minister, Wael Abu Faour, considered the so-called "Orthodox Electoral Law" as becoming not only a source of political threat but of political blackmail. "We fear for the nation from such political, non-electoral divergence," added Abu Faour.


Abu Faour commented on recent news by certain prominent news dailies in quoting MP Walid Joumblatt as having worries regarding House Speaker, Nabih Berry's concern for the consensus nature of eletoral law discussion sessions. Abu Faour stressed herein that Joumblatt harbors no fears or worries in this respect. He added that the President of the Republic, Prime Minister and political officials in the Country are entrusted with ensuring balance and consensus in the nation, and reaching a happy ending regarding the electoral law. "Our trust is complete in the fact that PM Najib Mikati shall not cover for any non-consensus parliamentary session," added Abu Faour.


Abu Faour's words came during a ceremony organized on Sunday by the Progressive Socialist Party Youth Branch in Rashaya, West Beqaa.
