Siniora delivers a word at Sidon's 28th liberation commemoration

NNA - Former PM Fuad Siniora called upon the State, with all its institutions and officials, to work on preventing all appearances of weapons, starting with Sidon far-reaching Tripoli. He considered that the current government has failed to implement this in Tripoli thus far.

Siniora considered that whoever wishes to cut-off roads and threaten the freedom of movement in Sidon would actually be contributing to sabotaging the City, whether intentionally or unintentionally.

Siniora stressed on holding elections at their scheduled time through an electoral law that ensures the interests of all people and achieves freedom of choice, justice, proper representation and coexistence and fairness between Muslims and Christians.

Siniora considered that a neutral government at this phase, with the events occurring around Lebanon, remains the suitable solution to lessen the pressure. He added that such a government is still possible so as to create a positive shock that is greatly needed at the national, political, economic and security levels. "The Lebanon we desire is the Lebanon of dignity, freedom and permanent spring, and not the Lebanon of guardianship and terror and weapons," added Siniora.

Siniora's words came during the event organized on Saturday by the Future Parliamentary Bloc's branches in Sidon and the South at Rafic Hariri High School premises in Sidon, marking the 28th commemoration of Sidon's liberation from Israeli occupation. The commemoration event took place under the headline - "Sidon - from liberation to construction" and was attended by several prominent political figures.
