NNA - Saudi ambassador Ali Aseeri, met with president Michel Sleiman over major regional/domestic developments. Both men reportedly explored venues for promoting bilateral relations.



Iranian ambassador Ghadanfar Roknabadi, came over to Baabda palace for more of the same while Ugarit Yunan of the Citizens' Campaign for Promoting a Fresh Personal Status Law, presented the president with a draft copy of the law and solicited his help in speeding up its study and approval by parliament.



The president reportedly reiterated outright rejection of the so-called Greek-Orthodox electoral law and lent full support for legalizing civil marriage as a means for modern nation-building.



Antoine Saad of the Lebanese Center for Research and Development, demanded full commitment to the so-called Baabda Declaration stipulating Lebanon's neutrality vis-a-vis regional conflicts and developments.



Muhammad Khaled of the Association of leading Beiruti Families implored the president to declare the capital demilitarized while striving to turn it instead into an administrative/political hub.
