NNA - Former Prime Minister, Omar Karami, saw on Friday that the attack which targeted his son, Sports and Youth Minister, Faysal Karami, was a mere mistake, confirming that no one stood in the circle of suspision.
"The Divine power intervened to save Minister Faysal Karami from any painful repercussions," the former Prime Minister said in a press conference which was held following the ill-fated attack which targeted a convoy carrying Minister Faysal Karami today.
He asserted that his family "bears no grudge against anyone, and accuses no one of being behind the shooting incident."
Karami later confirmed attachment to the course of the Lebanese state, promising not to hold anyone responsible.
Moreover, he called on the Lebanese state, army, and security apparatuses to assume their roles protecting the people, fearing that protests taking place at Abdul Hamid Karami Square would further "poison" the situation.
It is to note that Karami received calls from Kataeb Party Leader Amine Gemayel, Mufti of the Republic Mohammad Rachid Kabbani, Former Prime Minister Salim Hoss, MP Michel Murr, and Prosecutor Judge Hatem Madi, who all vehemently condemned the horrid incident.
