NNA - Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam, denounced in Friday's statement the blast which targeted former Finance Minister Mohamad Shatah, describing it as "a terrorist act which aims to strike stability and fuel strife in Lebanon among the Lebanese," asking the Lebanese to be aware of this scheme.



He offered condolences for the death of Martyr Shatah, saying "the late was a national and moderate figure."



He stressed that this assassination has proved that Lebanon was still a target of conspiracy to destabilize its stability.



Salam called on the security apparatuses and the judicial body to exert efforts and uncover the perpetrators of this blast and punish them.



"This explosion should be an incentive to activate the constitutional institutions through forming a national interest Cabinet to address pending files and needs," Salam urged.



On another note, Salam contacted President Michel Sleiman and offered condolences, as well as former Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora for the same purpose.



Salam also held a series of contacts with Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Marwan Charbel and security apparatuses leaders to follow up developments.
