NNA - Caretaker Minister of Environment, Nazem Khoury, said Tuesday that the current calamities that the country has been confronting originated from lack of trust and honesty among the political parties, warning that "Lebanon's situation does not allow any political maneuvers".



Khoury called upon the political leaders to be aware of the incidents that were taking place, advising them to ignore their selfishness and private demands in order to build trust among them and shoulder their national responsibility.



"If we continued in this cycle, we would only reach vacuum and would subject Lebanon to grave danger," Khoury told "Free Lebanon" radio.



Khoury ruled out a near formation of the cabinet due to the presence of many difficulties, adding that the more dangerous issue is reaching vacuum in the Presidential position.



He pointed that in the absence of an agreement to form a cabinet there would not be a possibility to agree on meeting the presidential dead line.



Commenting on several media publications that the President of the Republic, Michel Sleiman, had held meetings with some national and foreign officials to discuss extending his term, Khoury confirmed that "President Sleiman doesn't want neither extending nor renewing this term".



The President of the Republic is a man of principle and dialogue, Khoury said.



The Minister hoped the upcoming President would preserve the national dialogue committee foundations, set by President Sleiman, as a reference to the Lebanese to dialogue at the Presidential Palace.



Khoury indicated that "all parties pointed to the presence of consensus on supporting the Army, but, unfortunately, this support is not translated into action", condemning the attack against the Army in Sidon.
