NNA - Prime Minister Najib Mikati deplored and condemned on Monday the two suicidal operations executed against the Lebanese Army yesterday Sunday in Majdelyoun, calling upon all Lebanese to boost allegiance to the army and other security forces "as nobody is allowed to tamper with local security and the Lebanese military institution."
Mikati had already phone called the Lebanese Army Chief, General Jean Qahwaji, who explained to Mikati the circumstances of Majdelyoun incidents and informed him of the ongoing investigations in this concern.
Separately, Mikati received at the Grand Serail the US Ambassador to Lebanon, David Hale, and reviewed with him bilateral ties.
He also met with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Derek Plumbly, over the security condition in the south, notably the recent security incident on the borders in Ras Nakoura.
Amongst Mikati's visitors had been MP Mohammad Kabbara, Caretaker Tourism Minister, Fady Abboud, and others.
On a different note, Mikati presided over a meeting for the ministerial committee tasked to look into the condition of local jails.
