NNA - The Danish Refugee Council organized, in coordination with the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees, a Candlelight march entitled "Vigil Against Violence" as a conclusion to the global campaign entitled " 16 days of activities against the violence built on social basis" which began on Monday, 25 November 2013 (International Day against Violence against Women) until 10 December 2013 (International Human Rights Day).



The Vigil highlights the equality between Genders, and the negative consequences of censure the woman, and focuses on the fact that:" The censure of women is the censure of human rights."



Despite the bad weather the march crossed 2800 meters along the Mina Cornish- Tripoli, and was marked by a number of cultural and recreational activities, such as songs, poems and artwork drawn by women and children, as well as to carrying candles as homage to the battered women.
A great number of women, men, Syrian refugees and some non-governmental organizations participated in this march, and thanked the Danish Council and all the international organizations for their contributions in all their activities.
