NNA - Future bloc MP Khaled Daher on Friday voiced a wake-up call on March 14 forces, mainly Christian members, to equip themselves with weaponry deeming the lack of the latter to be the cause of the camp's loss in its battle against Hezbollah.



"Things with Hezbollah cannot be solved but by balance on ground," he explained.



Daher addressed LF Leader Samir Geagea and Kataeb Head Amine Gemayel, calling on them not to fall victims for the image of extremism and Tafkir some were trying to depict Tripoli by.



With his belief that what was happening in Tripoli was of the Christians' responsibility as of the Sunnis, the MP went on urging March 14 Christians not to fail to support Tripoli warning that "if Tripoli falls, there would be no freedom in Lebanon to face the Iranian-Syrian-Hezbollah project."



"March 14 strategy has proven to be useless without the ability of self-defense," he told Lobnan el Horr radio station.



Daher's justifications to refusing to declare Tripoli as a military zone were, in his words, the Cabinet decision needed in that respect and the wide powers that would be given to the Lebanese army, i.e. "confiscation of homes, random arrests and other things that we cannot accept in Tripoli."



"We are not the ones to blow up Mosques or bomb Tripoli with artillery," he said, accusing Refaat Eid to be using modern weapons for this purpose with the help of Hezbollah snipers and Marada movement leader Sleiman Frangieh.
