(UPDATE) FPM, National Struggle Front second meeting kicks off at Parliament

NNA - Lawmakers of Michel Aoun's Free Patriotic Movement and Walid Jumblatt's National Struggle Front convened Thursday for the second time this year, as part of the efforts to keep legislation away from political quandaries.

The two groups have met earlier in October, in answer to Aoun's Change and Reform bloc's initiative on bringing MPs closer to keep the legislative work on the go, despite the sharp political rift and current gridlock.

The meeting gathered MPs Ibrahim Kanaan, Alain Aoun, Ziad Assouad, and Simon Abi Ramia from FPM and MPs Wael Abu Faour, Alaeddine Terro, Elie Aoun, and Akram Shouhayeb from Jumblatt's bloc.

"Communication is the shortcut to dialogue. Today, we have tried and we will always insist on energizing the role of ministries to serve citizens," Shouhayeb told reporters following the meeting.

"We all hope that institutions return to assuming their role and that the government, with all sides represented, be formed in the nearest time possible. We also cleave on the dialogue call leveled by the President of the Republic Michel Sleiman," he said.

"No one can brush aside others; there must be dialogue," he stressed.
