NNA - Caretaker Water and Energy Minister, Jibran Bassil, on Wednesday said that Lebanon has ventured into putting up its fuel path, indicating that the international oil tender is no longer solely related to a decision by the Council of Ministers but also to securing conditions for its success.



"We are determined to complete the procedures for the international bid till the end," Minister Bassil said, adding that the Ministry works to ensure the realization of all conditions for its success.



Bassil's fresh words acme during his inauguration of the Second International Conference for Oil and Gas in Lebanon, at the Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut, in the presence of scores of dignitaries from the public and the private sectors, economic magnates, and representatives of the diplomatic corps.



More than 250 oil specialists from Lebanon and abroad attended said conference.



The two-day conference is jointly organized by "Planners & Partners" and "Global Event Partners" Companies, under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy and Water, in conjunction with Petroleum Administration Body.



Conference work sessions include eight sessions tackling the latest developments in the oil sector in Lebanon and shed light on the enormous prospects of investment and economic opportunities, especially in the sector of petroleum services and what is known as the "Chain Supply."



Discussions aim at putting the proper, solid foundations to build up the promising oil sector, in light of its positive impact on the socio-economic situation in Lebanon.



In his delivered word, Bassil said that Lebanon possesses a large marine gas reserve and a ground oil reserve, thus attracting the attention by the major international concerned companies.



The Minister also indicated that the Ministry is currently working on rendering Lebanon part of a global, regional gas and oil system, while clinging to its wealth and full rights in this regard.
