NNA - Syndicate of EDL (Electricité Du Liban) employees and workers said that they were shocked by TRICOM's workers' strike and the closing of EDL's entrances.
The syndicate said in a statement that based on the mediation efforts that the syndicate made between TRICOM's workers and EDL administration -- in a meeting which was held with the Board Chairman General Director on Monday 11/11/2013 -- in which TRICOM's committee did not object to any of the points that the two parties agreed on during the meeting, the syndicate was surprised by the workers latest steps.
The syndicate confirmed in its statement that EDL employees and workers are not a hostage, pointing out that they have warned previously that the closing of EDL's entrances and not allowing employees to go in and out would lead to full evacuation of the central premises until the state and EDL administration are capable of securing the entrance and exit of the employees and workers.
The statement added that neither the syndicate nor its employees would be responsible for any damage that might occur inside the central building during the strike.
Accordingly, despite the righteous demands of TRICOM's workers, the syndicate called upon all EDL's employees and workers to leave the central building until the security apparatuses and EDL's administration secure a respectable entrance and exit to its employees.
