Prime Minister Mikati meets with French President Macron at the Élysée Palace

NNA - Lebanese Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Friday arrived at the Élysée Palace in Paris for a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron. President Macron greeted him at the entrance, and the pair shook hands in front of the cameras, posing for souvenir photos.

Following the initial exchange, Macron and Mikati entered the palace for discussions, joined by Mikati's diplomatic advisor, Ambassador Boutrous Assaker. Representing the French side were Macron's Middle East affairs advisor, Anne-Claire Legendre, the Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Anne Grillo, and the French Ambassador to Lebanon, Hervé Magro.

The meeting is scheduled to last for an hour, after which Lebanese Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun, and Chief of Staff of the French Armed Forces, General Thierry Burkhard, will join the gathering. Discussions will continue over a lunch banquet hosted by President Macron in honor of Prime Minister Mikati.
