(UPDATE) Ceasefire deal agreed in Arsal outskirts

NNA - A ceasefire deal brokered by General Security Chief Abbas Ibrahim has been reached between Hezbollah and the remaining al-Nusra gunmen in the outskirts of Arsal, National News Agency correspondent reported on Thursday.

The ceasefire came into effect as of 6:00 am today.

As per the deal, al-Nusra militants and their families shall leave to Idlib province in Syria.

Ibrahim is expected to release a statement detailing the ceasefire terms in the next few hours.

Meanwhile, calm is prevailing over Arsal and its outskirts, as well as over the heights of Wadi Hmayed and al-Malahi.
