Aoun chairs meeting by delegation negotiating border demarcation: To correct maritime borders in accordance with international laws & regulations

NNA - President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, chaired Monday at Baabda palace a meeting by the official Lebanese delegation tasked with negotiating border demarcation tomorrow, in the presence of Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun.

The meeting touched on the developments that have occurred since the suspension of the meetings last December, and presented developments related to the contacts that were made to resume them.

During the meeting, President Aoun stressed "the importance of correcting maritime borders in accordance with international laws and regulations, as well as Lebanon's right to invest its natural resources."

He considered that "Lebanon's response to the resumption of indirect negotiations under the auspices of the United States of America, and hosted by the United Nations, reflects its desire to achieve positive results that will continue to maintain stability and security in the region."
