NNA – The Ghanaian Contingent operating within UNIFIL in the South presented today a donation of medical supplies and personal protective equipment to confront the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic to the “Development Services Center” of the Ministry of Social Affairs in the town of Aita al-Shaab in the southern district of Bint Jbeil.

The Center’s Director Siham Droubi and the Ghanaian Battalion’s Commander, Lieutenant-Colonel Frank Djebe-Aproquah, and a number of Ghanaian officers attended the ceremony.

Droubi expressed her gratitude for this generous initiative, and thanked "the efforts of UNIFIL’s Western Sector, in general, and the Ghanaian battalion, in particular, for their continuous support to the Center and the people in southern Lebanon."

It is noteworthy that the Ghanaian initiative is part of UNIFIL's Western Sector campaign, "Together Against Corona", which comes in the context of the peacekeepers’ contribution to various projects to support the people of southern Lebanon in the difficult struggle against the coronavirus.
