NNA - The Kataeb’s Political Bureau held its weekly meeting under the chairmanship of party leader, Samy Gemayel. After reviewing the latest developments, it issued the following statement:

1. The Kataeb Party commends the efforts of the government and several ministries in putting forward draft laws that align with the necessary reforms to move the country forward. It emphasizes that any bill presented to Parliament must be part of a comprehensive government plan and a clear economic and financial vision. Any bill should be a product of, and fully integrated with, such a plan, to ensure the achievement of the desired goals.

2. The Political Bureau reiterates its stance on the urgent need to address Hezbollah's weapons, considering the issue no longer open to debate and beyond any further discussion.

The party believes that the ongoing delay in addressing this issue, despite repeated international calls and advice, has become a significant obstacle to Lebanon’s recovery and its exit from the current crisis. In light of this, the party calls on the government and relevant authorities to immediately place this issue on the Cabinet’s agenda and set a clear, actionable roadmap for its resolution. Any discussion on this matter should be confined to Hezbollah and the Lebanese State, the only stakeholder empowered to make the necessary decisions.

3. As Lebanon approaches the 50th anniversary of the rise of the Lebanese Resistance, the Kataeb Party reaffirms its unwavering position in defense of Lebanon and its people. It vows to carry on the path of the brave resistance fighters who made sacrifices to ensure the survival of the nation.

The party will commemorate this occasion on Saturday, April 12, with a major rally at 4:00 PM in Ain el-Remmaneh. It invites its members and supporters to join in renewing their commitment to the cause. -- Kataeb. org
